Children have their own unique set of problems and the clinic evaluates and treats children with ADD, Specific Learning Disabilities, subtle seizure disorders, medical syndromes, and behavioural problems.
The unifying aspect of their problems is a difficulty in achieving success in school. The evaluation is comprehensive in nature.
Developmental, medical, educational, psychological and family histories are
investigated in depth. The most expert evaluators available in South Carolina are used. These include special educators, language specialists, central auditory processing experts, and perceptual motor specialists.
The type of testing recommended is dependent on each child’s individual problems and needs. The evaluation includes a full neurological exam and computer testing to help with the assessment.
The family is given a summation and a diagnosis, and therapeutic plans are suggested. Recommendations to the parents, the school, and most importantly to the child, will be made. After-school tutorials with special educators and psychological therapy with a clinical psychologist are offered for those families which desire
these services. |
